The journal publishes different modes of analysis and disciplinary discourses that explore how recent historiographical, critical, and theoretical ideas have engaged scholars concerned with the eighteenth century.

The eighteenth century was an age in which today’s disciplinary and topographical borders had not yet been quite fixed. Eighteenth-Century Book Reviews Online provides reviews of books published on all aspects of the “long” eighteenth century, both in the United States and abroad.
Reviews are commissioned by EBRO editors Clorinda Donato and Norbert Schürer at California State University, Long Beach, where the site is housed.
The editors invite contributions on all aspects of the eighteenth century. Essays employing interdisciplinary perspectives or addressing contemporary theoretical and cultural concerns relating to the eighteenth century are especially encouraged.
