    John Mensah Sarbah (June 3, Novem ), patriot and statesman, was one of the most outstanding nationalists of the Gold Coast at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. – Ghanaian politician. John Mensah Sarbah was the leading African politician in the Gold Coast (modern-day GHANA) in the late s and early into a wealthy family, Sarbah went to England to study the age of 23, he returned to the Gold Coast to set up a legal practice.
